UNM Extended Learning IT has also been affected by flooding in Woodward Hall. ELIT services, including support, have not been interrupted. However, some ELIT staff are being relocated to temporary offices and may not be available by phone. Please leave a voice message or email.

Online Student Services was not affected by flooding in Woodward Hall and is open for business in Woodward Hall Rm 157, 277-8128. 

New Media & Extended Learning (NMEL) is in the process of expanding its services and restructuring operations in accordance with a merge between Extended University and Continuing Education. This site provides information about Extended Learning’s IT, Faculty Services, Student Services, and Compliance & Strategic Initiatives, known collectively as NMEL. Under Extended Learning, these areas are responsible for the administration of online and ITV courses at the University of New Mexico, the implementation and management of UNM's enterprise Learning Management System, and a host of online media and production services.

Through NMEL, Extended Learning has been developing and supporting online learning since 1997. Since that time online course technologies supported by the unit have grown substantially. Our staff are recognized as experts on campus for providing academic technology and instructional support related to online course delivery, as well as web technologies used to supplement traditional face-to-face classes. We offer an integrated array of services designed to meet the diverse technical, administrative, and academic technology needs of students and faculty at New Mexico's flagship institution of higher learning. Our services include:

  • Enterprise Management and support of UNM's Learning Management System (UNM Learn) and Moodle for Non-Credit offerings
  • Technical support and management of online teaching and learning technologies including streaming media and web conferencing tools

  • Online Teaching and Learning tools
